Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 18, 2026

KLEAR LLC dba Night Vision Rentals (“Night Vision Rentals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates nightvisionrentals.com and the NVR After Dark iPhone app. This policy explains how information is handled when you use our website, shop or rental services, app, and support channels. For privacy questions or requests, email info@nightvisionrentals.com.

NVR After Dark app

Saved information on your phone. The app saves your selected place and time zone, park-bingo sightings, and selected sky target in local app storage. If you choose your device’s location, the saved place can include its coordinates. These saved preferences and sightings are not uploaded to a Night Vision Rentals app account or cloud database. The app does not require an account.

Location and motion. When you choose a location-based feature, the app may request your permission to use your location. Sky Finder can use your phone’s orientation to point the sky chart; orientation is processed on the device. The app does not continuously track your location in the background. You can select a listed place and use the manual sky chart instead of granting these permissions. Change location permission, including Precise Location, in iOS Settings. Turning off permission does not erase a previously saved place; select another place to replace it.

Weather and cloud maps. Online weather and location time-zone lookups send the selected latitude and longitude to the U.S. National Weather Service (weather.gov). The Clouds screen sends selected coordinates to Windy’s embedded map. If you selected your phone’s location, these coordinates can be precise. Requests also expose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to the provider. Providers may retain request or security logs under their own policies. Night Vision Rentals does not receive a copy of your location from these requests. The current forecast is cached temporarily in app memory. See the National Weather Service privacy policy and Windy Embed information. Windy states that its embedded maps do not use cookies or track users.

Website and video links. Shop, help, policy, and video links open separately in Safari or your device’s chosen browser or associated app. The app does not ask you to enter your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, identification documents, or payment details. Shopping, rental verification, and customer accounts are handled on our separate website, under the website practices described below. Other websites and video providers apply their own privacy policies. Earlier TestFlight builds may open these pages in an in-app browser; those website visits are also covered by the website sections of this policy.

App diagnostics and beta testing. The native app does not include an advertising SDK or its own remote usage-analytics service. Apple may provide crash or usage information through its developer services, subject to Apple’s settings and terms. If you join TestFlight, Apple processes beta-testing information and makes testing, crash, and feedback information available to us. Feedback you submit can include your email address, device details, comments, and screenshots. We use this information to investigate problems and improve the app. See Apple’s TestFlight terms and Apple’s privacy information.

Website, purchases, rentals, and messages

We receive information you provide through checkout, account registration, rental verification, newsletter signup, reviews, and contact forms. Depending on the service you use, this includes your name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, account information, order and rental details, messages, reviews, and documents you choose to submit.

Rental verification. Verification forms request identification documents and, where specified, proof of billing address, rental agreement acceptance, and an electronic signature. We use these documents to verify and administer the rental and address fraud or related disputes. Follow the form’s instructions about covering unnecessary identification numbers, account numbers, and balances. Send verification documents through the designated form; do not include them in an ordinary privacy-request email.

Payments and delivery. We use Stripe and Affirm for the payment options offered at checkout. Payment providers process the payment and financial information needed for the option you select, as well as transaction and fraud-prevention information. We receive payment status and related transaction information to administer your order. Shipping and tracking services, including UPS, ShipStation, and AfterShip where used for your order, receive the contact, address, order, and shipment information needed to provide their services. Their own privacy notices also apply to information they process.

We use customer and order information to provide products and rentals, administer accounts, arrange delivery and returns, process payments and refunds, respond to requests, prevent fraud, maintain records, and meet applicable obligations. We use newsletter details to send the updates you request. The website’s abandoned-cart service can retain cart contents and contact information you enter to support checkout and cart reminders.

Cookies, analytics, and technical information

The website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate shopping carts and account sessions, remember preferences, understand visits and order sources, and protect the service. Website and service-provider logs can contain IP addresses, browser and device information, dates and times, requested pages, referring pages, and error information.

We use Lucky Orange for website analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to understand how visitors use the site and improve it. It can process visitor identifiers, device and browser information, page visits, clicks, pointer movements, scrolling, and interactions with forms, including text in fields that are not masked. This applies to website visits, including visits started from an app link. For more information and available choices, visit Lucky Orange’s privacy page.

Our website also uses services for hosting, security, error monitoring, spam prevention, fonts, and embedded media. These include WP Engine, Wordfence, BugSnag, Google reCAPTCHA, Adobe Fonts, and embedded Vimeo or YouTube content where displayed. A provider may receive your IP address, device or browser details, interaction information, and the page or request needed to supply the service. See Google’s privacy policy for reCAPTCHA and YouTube, and the relevant provider’s notice for other services.

Who receives information

Authorized personnel and service providers receive information needed to operate and support the services described in this policy. Providers can include hosting, payment, financing, shipping, communications, analytics, security, and technical-support services. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to valid legal process, protect people or property, investigate fraud, or address a dispute. Services and providers may process information in the United States and other countries in which they operate.

Retention and deletion

Local app data: saved preferences and sightings remain on your device until you change or reset them, or remove the app’s data. Deleting the app normally removes its local data; device backups and restores are controlled separately through Apple. Deleting the app does not delete website accounts, orders, messages, or information already received by external providers.

Rental verification: our verification forms specify that verification entries and uploaded files are scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days after the associated rental is completed, cancelled, or refunded. Other order and transaction records are separate from these verification uploads.

Website and business records: website accounts and order records do not currently have a single automatic expiry period. Records may be retained for customer service, rental administration, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Contact us to request deletion or ask about a particular record. We may need to retain some information for those purposes. Providers apply their own retention periods to information they hold; removal from our active systems does not necessarily remove provider records or backup copies immediately.

Your choices and requests

Tell us which service and account or order your request concerns. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Please do not email passwords, payment-card numbers, or identification documents with the initial request. Information stored only on your phone cannot be accessed or deleted remotely by Night Vision Rentals.

Children and security

Children should not submit personal information, create a shopping account, or submit rental-verification documents through these services without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us. We use access controls and technical safeguards to protect information, but no website, device, or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our services and practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. Privacy requests should be sent to KLEAR LLC dba Night Vision Rentals at info@nightvisionrentals.com.
